Signature pet care for your family

Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art, compassionate care to our patients and excellent customer service to our clients. Our doctors and staff are passionate about caring for pets—you and your furry family members are the reason we come to work every day!

We are a full-service veterinary hospital with 4 full-time doctors who see dogs, cats and rabbits. We have on-site lab and x-ray equipment, which allows us to expedite diagnostic results. We do everything at the hospital from routine vaccinations, to microchips, to orthopedic surgeries. Above all, we give your pet all of the love and care that we would give to our own pets.

Clients and critics agree. Sunset Cliffs Animal Hospital is one of the best veterinary hospitals in San Diego.

Pet Hospital Gold Medal Winner

Dr. Christy Berg purchased the practice in 1996, when it was located near the famed Sunset Cliffs of San Diego. In 2008, we relocated to the thriving, eclectic downtown area of Ocean Beach where we reside today.

Our veterinary care is provided in an environmentally friendly facility, featuring energy-efficient windows, as well as solar panels that provide approximately 85 percent of the hospital’s power needs.

Hear it from our happy clients!

We pride ourselves on having the best and most satisfied clients. We encourage you to share your experience with us or online via social media or Yelp.

How we judged the contest:

  1. Submissions had to be received by the contest deadline, Sunday, November 5th at 11:59p, in order to qualify.
  2. Pets must have had a current exam, and dogs must have had a current heartworm test, before the contest deadline in order to qualify.
  3.  Costumes were judged on originality and implementation. Owners were also encouraged to dress up along with their pets.
  4. All doctors and staff at Sunset Cliffs Animal Hospital voted for their top three favorite entries. The votes were all then tallied to pick our final winner!
